called the impeachment probe “a lynching”?

Trump made the remark about the probe into his into his abuse of power regarding withholding Ukrainian military aid. He also claimed that the probe was “without due process or fairness or any legal rights,” despite the House’s use of investigative and impeachment powers as outlined in the Constitution. One would assume that the single chamber of Congress would not be able or allowed to conduct an ostensibly illegal investigation into the President. The probe was to investigate Trump’s call to the President of Ukraine where he asked for damaging information on Joe Biden in exchange for military aid that had already been granted by Congress.

According to Politico,

“The unofficial channels of sending the president newspaper articles for all kinds of political purposes never ended. It continues,” one person close to the White House said. “It’s a practice that has never been able to be halted and will continue on forever. No chief of staff has been able to stop people around Trump handing him articles to try to influence his opinion.”

Trump tried to distance himself from the child sex trafficker after his 2019 arrest, saying “I don’t think I’ve spoken to him in 15 years” and that he “was not a fan.” A tape surfaced of them chatting and laughing together at a party from 1992, amid reports of Trump having gone to various Epstein-hosted events, including testimony by Epstein’s brother Mark that Trump had flown on Jeffrey’s plane multiple times. Additionally, one of Epstein’s alleged teenage victims claims to have been recruited from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.

After Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested for allegedly helping Epstein traffic children, Trump said “I wish her well.”

He has also created conservative documentaries, such as the critically panned film 2016: Obama’s America.

D’Souza’s past commentary includes defending conditions at prison Abu Ghraib, in which multiple Iraqi prisoners were tortured, claiming it to be comparable to typical Middle Eastern hotels. He was condemned by liberal and conservative commentators alike for mocking the survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting.

In 2014, he pleaded guilty to making $20,000 in illegal contributions to the New York Senate campaign of Wendy Long, who ultimately lost to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. Trump pardoned him of the crime in 2018.
