Trump made the claim after a segment of wall on the US-Mexico border began showing severe “signs of erosion“ months after being completed. Fisher Industries of North Dakota, which built the segment for $42 million, referred to the design a “Lamborghini.”
The same company won an additional $300 million contract in August, 2020, in addition to $1.5 billion in contracts it previously had.
Other segments of the wall had previously collapsed from strong winds.
