Within a day of offering a White House invitation to the Philadelphia Eagles for becoming the 2017 NFL season Super Bowl champions, it was rescinded after several members said they wouldn’t attend. Trump has prepared platters of fast food for other visiting teams.
Trump prompted international outcry with his remark. He had also asked why any immigrants should be allowed from such countries, instead of “more people from Norway.”
The tweet was made amid the announcement of U.S. plans to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum.
When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win. Example, when we are down $100 billion with a certain country and they get cute, don’t trade anymore-we win big. It’s easy!
The comment was part of several tweets responding to the publishing of Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury, a book about the White House’s dysfunction. He later repeated the remark at a NATO summit.

Two of the Americans had been held for a year, while the third had been held for three years.

During the event, Trump spoke repeatedly about arming teachers. Rhonda Hart, mother of a 14 year old victim of the Texas school shooting, said of Trump that “it was like talking to a toddler.”
